We help our patients’ lives beyond providing specialist treatment, and believe in supporting the community that supports us.
That’s why we support local clubs and projects that make our community great. We do this through sponsorship and support as well as through our personal lives, with many of the Great Southern Specialist Centre team involved in officiating in community organisations and sporting clubs, military service and volunteering.
Community Funding Opportunities with GSSC
To ensure that our community contributions make a meaningful impact, GSSC are seeking specific criteria when considering sponsorship and support requests.
Your project will need to address at least one of the criteria to be eligible.

Who we support
Art Lease Project
The Great Southern Specialist Centre are proud supporters of the Art Lease Project – which supports local artists and Albany Community Hospice.
The project is a collaboration between the Great Southern Specialist Centre and Racquel Cavallaro, designed to facilitate an artwork loan arrangement between Great Southern Artists and business venues. Artworks are available for sale with the purchaser paying the artist direct and providing 20% sales commission donated to the Hospice. The Great Southern Specialist Centre then matches this donation and makes a further contribution to Albany Community Hospice.
Albany Surf Life Saving Club
The Great Southern Specialist Centre are Major Division sponsors of the Albany SLSC’s Lifeguard and Patrol services.
The team at Great Southern Specialist Centre are proud to be supporters of such a critical volunteer service to our community.
Albany Menshed
The Great Southern Specialist Centre are proud supporters of the Albany Menshed and its associated programs.
With a rapidly growing membership, we believe that the Albany Menshed is playing a valuable role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of both men and women in our community.
The team at Great Southern Specialist Centre are very pleased to provide the Albany Menshed with funding to support critical annual insurance costs.
Albany Sharks Football Club
The Great Southern Specialist Centre are pleased to have sponsored the Albany Football Club for the past 4 years.
As a business that is built around teamwork and has community at the centre of what we do, we are pleased to support a young and developing club that has a strong focus on a family orientated environment for the whole community.
Our support for the club is not about the promotion of our business but supporting the club to provide their young players with the opportunities they deserve.
International Rural Surgical Education Fund
The Great Southern Specialist Centre supports the delivery of coordinated access to specialist medical services through professional support and exceptional facilities. We believe in the value of research and education to deliver improved medical outcomes in local communities.
The International Rural Surgical Education Fund (IRSEF) was established in 2023 and aims to support international surgeons, trainees and surgical health professional to improve the quality of surgical practice and benefit their own surgical communities.
The IRSEF offers funding to support one or more of the following benefits:
• Conference/scientific meeting attendance
• Presentation opportunities
• Mentorship, leadership and networking opportunities
• Training and experience
• Professional development
