Great Southern Specialist Centre opens expanded facilities
The Great Southern Specialist Centre has now officially opened its expanded facilities, opposite its existing building ( GSSC West), in Lubich Way (off Cockburn Road, Mira Mar, Albany). The new facility, GSSC East, is now operating with patients being advised directly as to which building they should visit.
The opening enables Great Southern Specialist Centre to expand their health services to meet current and future health care needs of Albany and the region. It also marks another milestone in the growth of the very centrally located health precinct which also includes the Albany Day Hospital.
The original Great Southern Specialist Centre facility opened in July 2018 and in four years, the private medical centre has seen over 16,700 patients through their doors. That means a staggering number of patients have been able to avoid unnecessary travel and could stay close to their families and homes during their medical care.
The specialist services are designed to complement the public and private health services. Through the additional facility, Great Southern Specialist Centre can continue its focus on providing an even better service to the local community.
With the new facility now operational and more capacity to build on existing and new services, Great Southern Specialist Centre looks forward to welcoming future specialists to the region.
Co-located across from our existing West building, the additional East building will complement and enhance the services already provided by the Great Southern Specialist Centre.
Some of the new features of the building include:
- Dedicated treatment room
- Specially-designed Ophthalmology rooms
- Additional consulting rooms
- Customised Telehealth room
- Spacious and comfortable waiting room
- Easy access from the level car park.
